Inspection of Dangerous Goods

A wide range of requirements apply when transporting dangerous goods. The most significant is the IMDG Code on the transport of dangerous goods by sea. This code aims to eliminate or minimize risks, promote safety and facilitate the transport of dangerous goods by sea. KOMDI undertakes the Inspection of dangerous goods set out by the technical requirements and responsibilities under the IMDG Code on behalf of the competent authority of the Republic of Korea. KOMDI is working on the safety improvement in transporting dangerous goods with nationwide expertise.

Inspection of Stowage of Dangerous Goods on board the Ship

  • Confirming stowage requirements complied with document of compliance with SOLAS
  • Segregation requirements
  • Use of suitable packaging, conformity of marking, labelling and placarding

Inspection of Packing of Dangerous Goods in Container

  • Use of containers complied with CSC requirements
  • Cargo securing requirements as contained in the CTU code
  • Safety of packing, packages, conformity of marking, labelling and placarding

Inspection of Packages of Dangerous Goods

  • Classification requirements, conformity of marking and labelling
  • Use of suitable packaging
